Il pre-flop è il momento in cui avvengono le giocate nel poker alla texana. È il punto in cui devi concentrare la tua strategia di puntata. Senza una buona strategia pre-flop, la puntata sarà un flop! La valutazione di quello che hai nel pre-flop e la conseguente puntata, ti assicurerà per molto tempo la possibilità di ottenere un piatto decente. Questo significa riconoscere le buone carte durante il pre-flop e puntare in maniera efficace senza spaventare gli avversari.
Ci sono un paio di cose da considerare prima di puntare ogni volta la stessa quantità. Possono verificarsi due situazioni in cui i tuoi avversari ottengono le stesse carte (non esattamente probabile, ma a scopo di esempio prendiamolo come vero). Puoi puntare diverse quantità in ogni situazione. L’importante è leggere il tuo avversario prima di decidere sulla puntata. I tuoi avversari lasciano rapidamente o rilanciano alto il controbuio? Se così, potrai puntare alto su un buon pre-flop, ma non così alto se no la partita terminerà troppo presto.
In generale, punterai tre o quattro volte sul controbuio. Una tattica è puntare ogni volta la stessa somma, indipendentemente da cosa hai in mano. Lo scopo è che l’avversario non sia in grado di leggere se avete una bella o brutta mano. Potrebbe funzionare, ma significa anche che non sarai in grado di vincere con una mano veramente buona: rimarrai bloccato alla somma che hai stabilito.
Un metodo da giocatore di poker dilettante è puntare continuamente basso e poi puntare alto quando hai una buona mano. Il problema qui è che i tuoi avversari se sono abbastanza esperti saranno in grado di leggere la situazione. È quasi l’equivalente di mostrare tutte le tue carte. È palese che hai una buona mano. La soluzione è variare le tue puntate per mettere in guardia il tuo avversario, tentando qualche bluff così che lui o lei non riesca a capire realmente quando hai una buona mano. Non lasceranno tanto presto e il piatto crescerà.
Tutto ciò significa che la tua strategia di puntata pre-flop dipenderà molto dal tavolo al quale stai giocando. Quindi devi o giocare le mani e studiare la partita o lasciare sempre qualche mano e osservare dall’esterno i comportamenti degli avversari. Parte dell’attrazione per No Limit Holdem è che due partite non sono mai uguali. Nemmeno due tavoli sono uguali, quindi per aumentare quello che puoi ottenere da una buona mano, dovrai essere in armonia con lo stile del tavolo
