Recentemente ho giocato a un torneo Sit&Go a poker alla texana. I tornei Sit&Go sono tornei in tutto simili a quelli ‘normali’, ma sono molto più rapidi. I livelli dei bui iniziali cambiano molto più velocemente, in modo da giungere ad eleggere un vincitore in minor tempo. Sono l’ideale per chi gioca a poker in internet. Rapidi, permettono di guadagnare soldi (o perderli) molto rapidamente, e sono un’ottimo allenamento per il gioco del texas hold’em poker in torneo.
Ebbene, ero a un tavolo di Sit&Go Turbo (ovvero ancora più rapido) composto da 6 giocatori, i blind erano di 15/30 e come prima mano, cosa mi capita? Un AA! Incredibile. Ero in posizione di ‘botton’ e il giocatore in seconda posizione fa un bel rilancio di 60, ovvero il doppio del piatto. Nulla di incredibile, tenendo in mente che un torneo non si vince alle prime mani, ma invece lo si può facilmente perdere. Una serie di call e quando arriva il mio turno, rilancio del doppio: 120. Tutti abbandonano tranne il giocatore che ha fatto il rilancio iniziale, che va all-in. Lo vedo.
Deve essergli bruciato parecchio, perchè a fronte della mia coppia d’assi, lui aveva una coppia di Re. Non c’era nulla di male nel modo in cui ha giocato la sua coppia di re, forse i tempi utilizzati, ma sostanzialmente si deve giocare in questo modo una coppia di re a un tavolo di texas hold’em, la sfortuna, per lui era che io, che giocavo dopo di lui avevo in mano una coppia mostruosa.
E cosi in una sola mano, la prima, avevo giá raddoppiato il mio monte chips. Ma questo non mi ha portato a vincere il torneo, anzi, nemmeno ad andare a premi, dato che ho terminato in quarta posizione.
Cosa mi e ci può insegnare questo torneo? Non rischiare tutto nelle prime mani, perchè non si potrá vincere il torneo solo con quello. Anche se si gioca bene. E’ più conveniente ponderare bene le prime mani che si giocano, aspettare le carte buone e puntare su quelle, senza giocarsi tutto il monte chips, a meno che si abbiano dei veri mostri di carte tra le mani. Ma anche quello, come accadde a me, può non bastare.
