Esseere in early position e dovere parlare per primi, essere come dicono gli americani ‘under the gun’ (che rende abbastanza l’idea) è la posizione al tavolo teoricamente peggiore nel texas hold’em poker. Siete i primi a parlare e dovete farlo senza avere in alcun modo un’idea delle carte che hanno i vostri avversari: sotto la pistola, appunto.
La regola generica di chi si trova in early position è prudenza, che letta nel gergo del poker alla texana e dei casinò online, si chiama ‘passare’. Il ventaglio delle carte giocabili in posizione early è decisamente ridotto rispetto a quelle giocabili in late position, quando siete tra gli ultimi a parlare.
Questo non vuole dire assolutamente che si deve solo passare. Affatto, ma va valutata con attenzione ogni situazione. La prima valutazione e’ quella da farsi sopra il tipo di giocatori e di gioco che siete. Se è un tavolo di gioco aggressivo (tigh) o di giocatori più prudenti (loose). Nel caso di un gioco non troppo aggressivo, prudente, loose, volendo si possono aggiungere al paniere anche le mani visualizzate in posizione 5 nella leggendaria tabella di sklansky (anche insomma 77, 87s, Q9s, T8s, KJ, QJ, JT, 76s, 97s, Axs, 65s ) ma altrimenti e’ meglio limitarsi alle carte migliori, e meglio se dello stesso seme (suited).
E’ da considerare, nella valutazione del tipo di gioco e quindi di quali carte giocare inizialmente al texas hold’em poker, quello che viene definito un tavolo tight o loose. Genericamente un tavolo tight e’ un tavolo dove vi son frequenti e continui rialzi anche prima del flop, ovvero solo con le prime 2 carte. Contrariamente il gioco al tavolo definito loose e’ quello dove vi son pochi rialzi poco frequenti e il gioco permette di essere presenti al flop in molte più mani. Il consiglio di gioco al poker in early position, e’ quindi quello di valutare il tipo di gioco e carte. Passare se si e’ nel dubbio e valutare il tipo di tavolo, giocando più spesso quando il tavolo e’ loose.
