Il check-raise nel poker alla texana è quella strategia dove, anche in possesso di una buona mano, si fa check per poi, fare raise di fronte a una puntata di un altro giocatore.
Principalmente, si usa il check-raise per due ragioni:
- fare in modo che aumenti il volume delle chips in gioco
- far fuori giocatori con giocate medie per ridurre il rischio di perdite contro giocate poco probabili.
Per giocare e far fruttare il check-raise al massimo nel gico sui campi di poker online, bisogna principalmente essere sicuri che qualcuno punti e tenere una buona posizione rispetto a chi presumi vada puntando. La prima puntualizzazione è ovvia, se non sei certo che qualcuno punti, fare un check-raise potrebbe risolversi in una carta gratuita da far vedere a un sacco di gente. Valuta bene. E gioca bene anche con chi sai che punta abitualmente. E’ fondamentale parlare prima di lui e sfruttare il suo rilancio per far ridurre il flop a una questione di pochi giocatori.
Una delle situazioni in cui si può giocare con ottimi risultati il check-raise è quando si è in una early position con una mano decisamente forte. Immaginate di avere un KK. Potreste rilanciare subito col rischio di portarvi a casa solo i blind. Oppure check-raise. Magari sperando che al flop esca una buona carta, un Q ad esempio e vi troviate di fronte a qualcuno che con una Q in mano rilanci e col quale fare un gran mano ricca di chips. E’ una strategia che funziona nel gioco online, provaci la prossima volta che giochi online (provato su Tilt Poker ad esempio?).
Altra giocata in cui sfruttare il check-raise è una coppia bassa. Immaginate un 33. Al flop potrebbe capitarvi un flop del genere 37K. Voi infilate un tris e qualcuno probabilmente una coppia col K. E’ l’0ra di aspettare che lui punti per poi rilanciare e alzare il pot in gioco.
Ovviamente, come sempre, ripetere uno schema di gioco come il check-raise ripetutamente può essere facilmente compreso dai vostri avversari. Per questo, conviene comunque variare il proprio stile di gioco di modo da non dare mai punti di riferimento ai vostri avversari.
