Vi siete mai trovati in una situazione in cui a fronte di un pre-flop in cui pensavate di spaccare il mondo con carte come A-K, A-Q, A-J, K-Q, K-J, Q-J vi ritrovate, nel flop davanti a carte decisamente più basse, come 10-8-4? Questa e’ la tipica situazione delle overcards, ovvero carte che son stan sopra (over) di valore, alle carte del flop. La situazione veramente difficile con cui bisogna misurarsi, in questi frangenti, e’ di natura psicologica. Cazzo, avevo un mostro tra le mani, magari ho pure puntato e rilanciato e ora che ci faccio??
E’ molto difficile abbandonare queste carte, ma vediamo, invece, come riuscire a valutarle nel modo corretto. Due overcards son 6 outs al turn e altrettanti al river. Il che significa, che ci son circa il 13% per ogni turno di fare una coppia. E anche se uscisse una di queste carte, poniamo un A, avremmo una coppia alta con un kicker eccellente..ma potrebbe assolutamente non bastare. Una doppia coppia anche infima ci batterebbe.
Altra considerazione, son le scale. Quando si trova un 10 al flop, il rischio e’ decisamente alto di trovare avversari con possibili scale. E anche se gli outs son a favore, se entra una scala, è sicuramente un gioco nettamente più forte della coppia, seppur alta.
Nella maggior parte dei casi, insomma, quando ci si trova con delle overcards al flop, conviene abbandonare. Specialmente se gli avversari son poco conosciuti e non possiamo leggere che tipo di giocatori siano. Sicuramente, non e’ che si debba assolutamente, e automaticamente fare cosi. Ma valutare con notevole attenzione si.
